Sydney's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
I had the privilege of being nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2024 Virginia Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program for high school students that runs from February 20th to April 12th to raise money to help blood cancer patients not only survive but thrive after treatment. I am writing today to ask for your support for my campaign and LLS’s mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and families.
I have created a team of committed friends and family to partner with me on this journey. Together, we have set a fundraising goal of $50,000. The money raised helps LLS, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers, fund research to advance lifesaving treatments, drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to these treatments, and provide patients and families with hope, guidance, education and support. Our candidate team is particularly passionate about raising awareness and helping those that are currently fighting cancer.
As you may know, my family has been impacted by cancer several times, resulting in the loss of my Aunt Lisa and my Zayde (grandfather), Arnold. I want to do my part in helping fight for the cure along with raising awareness in and around my community. Keeping their memory and legacy alive is very important to me. This combined with helping others who have been touched by or left behind because of cancer are my primary goals. My campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. I know that with your help, I can reach my goal and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers.
All donations received will support LLS’s overall mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Thank you in advance for partnering with a mission so close to my heart and making a gift that is meaningful for you.
With much Love,
Sydney Isenberg

My good friend Leslie is fighting her own battle with cancer now, and I am standing with her in live and prayers. She is truly an inspiration, but what a journey it has been. My heart goes out to all those who have fought similar battles, and my hope is that research will continue to bring better treatment and outcomes. Thank you, Sydney, for working towards that end.
